phone we both knew that this was the beginning of wonderful friendship between FS and JR. This was

Do you have much experience working with creative freelancers?
I have lots of experience dealing with freelancers as they comprise approximately 90% of my business! My
current clients include artists, actors, dancers, photographers, producers, film makers and writers. I am
continually receiving queries from a range of other artists also. As a creative freelancer in acting on the side for a
number of years, I understand the issues (and tears!) you all face at some point.
Do you specialise in any particular creative areas?
I find that I work across most creative areas with ease due to the wide ranging experience of my staff.
What is the ideal relationship that a creative freelancer can have with his or her accountant?
If a creative freelancer was signed with us, you would enjoy having us as a business sounding board, adviser,
someone who will tell it to you like it is!, prevent you from making costly mistakes and of course a friend!
Are you able to inform your creative clients about:
Establishing the differences between being a hobbyist and being a business?
- Definitely!
Setting up and managing GST responsibilities?
- Of course!
Managing PAYG instalments?
- Absolutely!
Deductions specific to their field?
- Certainly!
Averaging for special professionals?
- Yes!

Would you like to say anything to creative freelancers who might be looking for a new accountant
I totally understand the confusion and anxiety you might feel towards your finances and financing your creative
